It’s time for another edition of WFA jobs!
I’ve identified the top 5 open jobs from my job board that I believe YOU have a chance of getting.
Let’s take a look at each one, including who the company is, what kind of job it is, why you should consider applying, and how I would recommend preparing (in addition to my usual recommendations).
Job #1
Job Link:
https://www.remotehub.com/jobs/details/wordpress-content-social-media-manager-634d0300edae3a6924733ca1
Why This Job:
A high number of my readers are experienced content creators and/or very familiar with Wordpress.
Company Overview:
BuddyBoss is a company that is built around Wordpress theme of the same name. The company has over a decade of operating system and a long history of hiring overseas.
The company appears to have a friendly, values-driven culture and also appear to have gone through a recent hiring expansion. The average employee tenure is 1.9 years, and it’s notable that many of their employees are relatively young, meaning there is opportunity for less experienced individuals to join the team.
Job Type and Critical Requirements
This is a content management and social media management position. It requires some degree of leadership (over small teams), analytical skill, and content production experience. Beyond this, there are a number of recommended skills.
You will benefit strongly from a medium to deep understanding of Wordpress.
Who Should Consider Applying
Anyone with 2+ years of content management and/or social media management experience who has lead a small team before
How to Prepare Well
Beyond all of my standard recommendations for applying for a job, I’d recommend you read through how BuddyBoss’s website and all its content across socials, read up on its website, and try to imagine what its most successful funnels are. If you submit a VQ, I strongly recommend it, it should be a proposal for a new organic content funnel, perhaps on an underutilized channel.
Job #2
Job Link:
https://cryptojobslist.com/jobs/brand-design-intern-binance-global
Why this Job:
Binance is one of the most exciting companies out there. This job is your best bet to get into a role at the company.
Company Overview:
Binance is the worlds biggest crypto currency exchange. You can buy and sell any number of crypto currency platforms, learn about how crypto works, and so much more on Binance.
Job Type and Critical Requirements
This is a Brand Design Intern position. It’s a position to make brand assets for the company. You need experience in brand design, including Photoshop and Illustrator, but also potentially Figma.
Who You Should Consider Applying
Anyone with at least 6 months of work experience in visual design and at least intermediate level Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
But I strongly recommend savvy networking (see below).
How to Prepare Well
Network. Follow this guide, but double or even triple the number of people you connect with.
In addition, if you are interested in this position, start creating visual assets related to web 3 companies and publishing them on at least 1 social media channel. Even if you don’t get this position, Web3 is one of the most open “industries” for work from anywhere, and consistently creating content on the topic will lead to getting noticed over time.
Job #3:
Job Link:
https://cryptojobslist.com/jobs/technical-support-engineer-crypto-industry-asian-timezones-keyrock-remote
Why this Job:
Most of my readers are from Pakistan, and many are quite technical. This role is ideal for technically-minded Pakistani candidates, as it requires someone to cover Asian time zones for technical support.
Company Overview
Keyrock is a solutions architecting company in Fintech. They create web3 solutions and help companies build markets around them. It’s a bit hard to understand exactly how they operate, because their website is vague. Be aware that the interview process may be a bit annoying, based on GlassDoor they have a habit of needing a lot of follow up to get back to you about what is next. It is a legitimate company though, just like so many startups they seem to struggle with recruiting.
Job Type and Critical Requirements
This is a technical support position. It looks like you will be monitoring their product offerings for bugs and providing set up support to their customers in Asia. Since it’s not really clear what there product offerings are, you’ll probably need to dig a bit to understand your precise responsibilities.
Who Should Consider Applying
Based on research, this company really does hire from anywhere and is growing fast. It’s also in Web3, so even if you only put 6-12 months in, you’ll still have Web3 on your CV and be able to take the next steps with more confidence.
Basically anyone with backend engineering knowledge and an understanding of network technology should apply. Ideally you have 2+ years of experience, but I’m not sure that’s necessary.
How to Prepare Well
Google the heck out of them. If I were applying for this role, I’d spend 3 hours trying to understand them and what they are about, to make sure I understand what kind of technical support I’d be providing. Beyond this, follow all the other suggestions I have documented.
Job #4
Job Link:
https://weworkremotely.com/remote-jobs/testgorilla-business-development-representative-2
Why This Jobs:
We wanted to include a sales type job and Test Gorilla is a great company! In addition, this job has gotten surprisingly few applicants.
Company Overview
Test Gorilla is an assessment management platform. They use their software to help screen candidates in the application process. They are famously fully remote. What really stands out about Test Gorilla is the reviews on GlassDoor. It’s obvious that people really like working there, which makes me think they are likely a wonderful place to work.
Job Type and Critical Requirements
This is a Business Development Representative position. Basically outbound sales. You’ll be contacting companies and trying to evangelize and sell Test Gorilla.
More than most companies, you need to really believe in the mission. I think this is about 50% of what’s required for this job. The other 50% is solid outbound sales skills, something I’d say you should have if you have 2+ years of experience.
Who Should Consider Applying
Anyone with 2+ years of sales experience (at least 1 of those outbound) who is very passionate about helping companies improve hiring practices.
How to Prepare Well
This one you can’t prepare too much for, initially. You’ll be required to take an assessment from TestGorilla. The best way to be prepared is to get plenty of rest and start the assessment at a time when you have at least 30 minutes before and after to comfortably switch between job and relaxing.
One thing you can do is be very clear about Test Gorilla’s mission and make sure you are aligned with it.
Job #5:
Job Link:
https://cryptojobslist.com/jobs/php-symfony-developer-dappradar-remote
Why This Jobs:
It’s rare to see the mix of PHP and a crypto job. I know a lot of you have PHP development experience, and if you’ve been looking to get into Web3, this is probably the best way.
Company Overview
DappRadar works to aggregate and promote Decentralized Applications. They are based in Lithuania and have a large number of people in office, which means if you are applying, you can expect that you will be in the minority. This is not a bad thing, just something to be aware of.
Job Type and Critical Requirements
This is a PHP Symphony developer. If you use have 3+ years of experience with PHP and at least 1 year of Symphony experience, you have what it takes.
How to Prepare Well
Check https://dappradar.com/about-us and the rest of the application. Get a clear sense of what the company is about and how the application works. And network. This is the most straightforward job on the list, because they are really just looking for someone who knows PHP and Symphony well.
And that’s it! I strongly encourage you to apply to one of these jobs. We’ve tried to provide opportunities for a range of types of people and experience levels. Good luck!
