Why I Want To Write About The Remote/Return To Office Divide
Bubbles are everywhere. I want this one to pop.
I recently signed up for Tim Denning’s Write 4/28 Challenge.
It’s been great, and I figured, in addition to writing on Twitter everyday, I’d push myself to write on Substack.
Here’s why:
Twitter seems great for conversations. I also want a place to share more deeply.
I tried Substack last month. It didn’t go well. This is take 2.
I love the remote work, but I also love the office *gasp*. This writing is my attempt to bridge the gap between two groups of people who seem to live in VERY different bubbles online.
In the next 27 days, I’m going to write the remote vs office, empathy as the key to building the work from anywhere future, and what I learn from the return to office crowd.
This newsletter is primarily for the remote work/remote first crowd: I think we’re creating a bubble, and I’d like to see if we can pop it. I grew up in the ultimate bubble: the suburbs of Washington, DC. It feels great, but the world is a better place when you go outside of your bubble and engage with people who think differently from you.
If this sounds interesting to you, I hope you’ll subscribe, or follow these posts on LinkedIn! I’ll be thrilled to engage and learn more about what you think.
